KNIFE SHEAR TEST
Australian Standard AS 5039.3
The Knife Shear Test replicates a targeted knife attack on the security screen. During testing, a heavy-duty trimming knife is drawn along a 250 mm line with a vertical force of 150 N (15 kg) and a horizontal force of up to 350 N (35 kg). This procedure is repeated three times, each using a new blade along the same line, to ensure consistent and thorough evaluation of the screen’s resistance.
DYNAMIC IMPACT TEST
Australian Standard AS 5039.3
The Dynamic Impact Test uses a 43kg impactor delivering 100 joules and 200joules of energy, repeated five times to simulate a burglar kicking the screen. MESHTEC™ Security Doors confidently withstand the highest security level of 200 joules with ease.
JEMMY TEST
Australian Standard AS 5039.3
The Jemmy Test is specifically designed to replicate an intruder attempting to bypass a security door or window using tools. This test is conducted using a large lever applied to all locking, hinging, and fastening points. A force of up to 450 N (45 kg) is exerted continuously for 20 seconds—significantly exceeding the strength of most potential intruders—ensuring the door or window’s robust resistance to forced entry.
SALT SPRAY TEST
American Society for Testing and Materials ASTM B117
MESHTEC™ mesh successfully passes the Salt Spray Test after 3,000 hours of exposure, demonstrating corrosion resistance equivalent to over 10 years of real-world durability.
TENSILE TEST
Japanese Industrial Standard JIS Z 2241
MESHTEC™ ’s 316-grade wire passes tensile tests at 900±40 MPA, and 304-grade wire at 800±30 MPA.
QUV WEATHERING TEST
American Society for Testing and Materials ASTM D 4587, ASTM D 5894
Accelerated weathering tests simulate extended outdoor exposure. MESHTEC™ has successfully passed the QUV Weathering Test after 1,000 hours, demonstrating its durability and resilience under harsh environmental conditions.
DURABILITY TEST
Australian Standard AS4145.2
Lockset hardware undergoes rigorous testing to ensure the durability and reliability of door and window components, tailored to meet specific application demands and customer requirements.
LARGE MISSILE IMPACT TEST
American Society for Testing and Materials ASTM E1996
The Large Missile Test simulates the impact of storm debris by subjecting materials to 4 kg projectiles at speeds up to 24 m/sec. The MESHTEC™ X-Treme Series surpasses these stringent requirements, demonstrating exceptional strength and impact resistance, making it ideal for cyclone and hurricane-prone regions.
Constructed from high-tensile woven stainless steel, MESHTEC™ screens provide a highly resilient barrier engineered to resist penetration from even the sharpest cutting instruments. Independent laboratory testing has confirmed the screens’ ability to withstand repeated cut attempts, ensuring reliable and long-term security.
MESHTEC™ security screens withstand repeated attempts to breach the barrier using brute force. Independent laboratory testing confirms that our screens exceed the rigorous requirements of Australian Standards 5039, ensuring enhanced security and durability.
Each MESHTEC™ security door features a robust 3-point locking system engineered to withstand forced entry attempts from a wide array of burglary tools. Tested rigorously by an accredited and ISO 17025 certified laboratory, our doors consistently meet—and surpass—the stringent Australian security standards. This ensures you receive exceptional protection combined with lasting peace of mind.
